"I've just started feeding peanuts in the shell, using the peanut wreath feeder (see photo below), and I love it! I think it took about 15 minutes for a Downy Woodpecker to find it. Not far behind were the Blue Jays. The Downys sit on the wreath, pecking the shells open and taking out the meat. The Blue Jays take the whole peanut in the shell out and fly off with it, landing on a nearby tree where they'll then peck it open and eat the meat. What a fun feeder!"
